Pānui ā Hobsonville e-Newsletter

Published every second Friday of the month, our electronic newsletters keep you informed about the latest school events, awards or community news. Parents are emailed a link and alerted on our school app.

Team Term e-Newsletter

Are produced by our Learning Leaders every quarter, at the start of a new term, then emailed (and an alert posted on our school app) to all parents of students within their team level. This informs parents of their child’s learning focus for that term and highlights any up-and-coming class events, EOTC school trips or activities needing either parent helpers and/or activity payments. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are not receiving them.

Updates – Rāapa / Rāmere

All current events and any important notices are: emailed, posted on our website news page and sent as an alert to our school app to all our families every Wednesday and alternate Fridays. These serve as friendly reminders for parents about all the happenings at school in the coming week/s.

Notices & Permission Forms

We aim to keep paper notices to a minimum in our bid to become a paperless school. We use eTap to send school wide email notices and teachers may send admin emails to you directly or post an alert on our school app. EOTC trips or school activities requiring parent permission and payment are posted on KINDO.

School App

For our parents and caregivers we have a convenient, easily downloadable school app available for your smart phone or tablet. You can receive the latest news and updates as message alerts, report an absent child, contact the school, view the latest newsletter, events calendar or access your parent portal and KINDO account.

Seesaw

Seesaw is an easy way for our students to share and record what they are learning. For their whānau it’s a window into what their Tamariki are learning and provides an invaluable link between school and home. It’s available in all learning areas, specifically Years 0 to 6. Seesaw is private so you will only be able to see your child’s work as well as any work they have collaborated on with their peers. Your comments on your child’s work is valuable, so feel free to provide positive feedback.

How to access your Child’s Seesaw account:

• Request an invite from your child’s teacher. You will need this in order to subscribe to Seesaw,
• Download the Seesaw App to your mobile or tablet from the App Store or Google Play,

Digital Notice Board

Our digital notice board is located near the front office car park on Hobsonville Road. This highlights any current news or up-coming events, it is updated daily. Keep your eyes peeled for what’s coming up at Hobsonville School.
