Regular attendance is very important for your child to gain the most benefit from their time while at school. If a child attends for less than 90% of each term we will contact parents to discuss the reasons for this. If non-attendance is an ongoing issue then outside agencies may need to become involved.
School Attendance
If your child is absent for any reason, parents or caregivers are required to communicate this to the school by 9.00am. Hobsonville School has many options available for you to report your child’s absence (see below), please remember to leave your child’s name, room number and an explanation. If your child is absent and we receive no notification, the school will text you for verification. Students leaving the school grounds during the school day will also need to be signed out at the school office, where the parents or caregivers meet them.

If a student feels unwell or they hurt themselves while at school, they should report to the school office. Their teacher, a friend, or an assigned classmate may help escort them to the office if they need assistance or moral support. Here one of our staff will look after them in the health room (sick bay) and if necessary will contact their parent or caregiver.
If a student has an appointment during the school day and needs to leave school, or they miss a day as a result of the appointment, the parent or caregiver will need to let the school know in advance by notifying the school office. You will also need to sign them out at the office.
