Hobsonville School has been part of the Northwest Auckland community – teaching generations of its children – since around 1875. In fact, some of our parents were pupils here, as were their parents! It’s a wonderful legacy and heritage that we feel gives a strong foundation to our school and credibility and reassurance for all our parents.

Over the generations we have learnt, adapted, changed and evolved to embrace new methods of learning; creating a vibrant and interactive environment for our students. Education is ever-changing and we are constantly reviewing and adding to our curriculum to prepare our students for both academic success and skills and values to live life successfully. Hobsonville School has been teaching our students to be the BEST they can be for many generations … and we look forward to continuing for many more.

A passion that can’t be taught

Talk to a ‘Hobby’ teacher and discover passion, pride and commitment in the work they do and the children they mentor. Walk around the grounds and you sense Hobsonville’s proud history and the many generations that have gone before. The majestic 75 year-old Kauri tree takes pride of place in the school’s playground and is strongly rooted in our ethos – a link to past, present and future.

The saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ rings true for what we hold most dear at Hobsonville School.
