We encourage all our students to take every opportunity to put their hand up for leadership roles within our school. After all, today’s leaders may well end up being tomorrow’s leaders.

Our Year 6 to 8 students can apply to be library monitors. Successful applicants are then trained throughout the year to assist with: issuing and returning of books, arranging shelving displays, shelve fiction and nonfiction, write book reports and other library duties. Library monitors are expected to turn up to their duties on time (morning tea and lunch breaks) and always be ready and willing to help. Librarians also need great communication skills to suggest good books to their fellow students.
Students interested in becoming library monitors, should apply in writing to the Library Manager: sharon.hailstone@hobsonville.school.nz
